Teen Wednesday Nights at 6 pm
Here are some other things we have going on!!
Spiritual GrowthAs a youth group, this is the main focus. Our goal is that teens and families would begin and continue to be transformed by our Lord and Savior Jesus. This is where most of our weekly activities come into play.
Winterfest - Winterfest is the one of the largest youth rallies in the Church of Christ in America. Every January, we gather with around 6,000 other students and adult volunteers from all over the country in Arlington, Tx. There we hear great speakers, entertainment, and take part in amazing worship! Camp—In the summer, we attend Lariat Creek Christian Camp near Geary, OK. It's an awesome time of Bible study, worship and a variety of other activities. |
ServiceWe desire to get the focus off of ourselves and onto others. There are many people out there in need. Whether they need something physical or spiritual, we desire to provide both if we can.
Service Projects—We look around Cordell for things that people might need help with. These usually happen when a need is made known to the youth group. We have also made trips to Oklahoma City to do service in some of the lower income communities. Summer Encounter—This is one of our church-wide efforts to serve the community of Cordell. We want to give people right here in town a chance for their elementary child to have a spiritual experience in the summer. Youth Group kids make this happen. There are lots of helper jobs for Jr. High and High School students to do. |
Fun and FellowshipWe like to have a good time. Though it is important that all involved are committed to contributing to an environment where people feel comfortable and
welcome. Retreats—We like to coordinate with other area churches in planning weekend retreats. Every spring we join with area churches to do a retreat at Camp LuJo, south of Lawton. Float Trip—At the end of a summer full of activities, service projects, and camps we like to have one more fun time to close out the summer together. We head to Tahlequah and the Illinois River for a 6 mile float. Misc Activities—We also do a random assortment of other activities at different times throughout the year including: Laser tag, going to the Zoo and the mall, Frontier City, going hiking down in the Wildlife Refuge near Lawton, going to Meers (a restaurant with giant burgers), etc. We are open to suggestions, so if you are interested in something, we may very well try to go do it! |
